Before the 3rd time, I re-burned the setup onto a new CD downloaded the image file from Microsoft’s website yesterday in case the disc was causing the problem, and ran it normally again but this time with the UAC off.
Good luck StefHyland, Harpreet, and David. Please keep everyone updated. Our company belongs to the MS Partner Network. If mine doesn’t finish by the time lunch is over, I’ll call their tech support to see if they can help; I’ll let you know. They had me download the Office image file again; left it downloading as I left for the day. This morning when I checked it, I noticed the file it downloaded was about 2. The image file I downloaded a couple days ago was only about MB!?
That one didn’t display any error or message that it failed or that it was possibly incomplete. When I burned it to disc after that it never gave any indication it was or may be incomplete.
And when I ran it 3 times yesterday, it didn’t recognize that it was incomplete! Why Windows or the install package itself doesn’t recognize this is a little disconcerting to me. Anyway, I burned the new Office image to disc and ran the setup; it installed OK. So y’all that are having a similar problem with it: if you downloaded the setup program or an image of it , check the original file size to the downloaded size and make they match. I had the same problem.
I left the computer on overnight, and the installation still showed as incomplete. In desperation I restarted and got the standard Windows update messages and then found that Office had installed.

Still having issues here. Had to manually end the process. Tried rebooting and running the installer again and all I got was a screen saying office is preparing files and it sat that way for hours. My setup file is 4. My other copy of the program I am trying to install on my win 10 pc and it’s not going anywhere. I tried re-downloading the set-up file but it was the same size.
It’s rather annoying as I currently do not have ny copy of office on my win 10 pc. I bought this copy to use it on my win 10 pc and yet it won’t install. Any further news on how to fix this? Also would like to note the whole not being able to do a custom installation to choose which programs I want and don’t want to install was a BAD move on Microsoft’s part.
Some of the programs I don’t even use but am stuck with them taking up space because of this all or none approach. Try downloading Office now and check if you are able to install Office normally.
