This is not a Home vs Pro difference. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Thanks for your feedback. Thanks for the quick reply Don. Here’s a bit more info. I don’t believe it’s luck that my Explorer works as all on some sites, as I’m seeing it working on other people’s computers that I get into, on the same sites.

I use Outlook because, at 82, I’m vision impaired, and the much more vivid graphics compared to the current Outlook are easier to see. Additionally, the text and font has a far better range for adjustment in Outlook What say you? Thank you for the offer, Igor, but It’s been decades since I’ve had to ask for, or receive help. I usually help other people. As to the other problems you mention, it’s definitely not a PC architecture issue, or a breakdown in my software.

I’ve proved that by seeing the same non issue on other computers I hook up with on Team Viewer. I have 3 backup modes to rely upon, so if the issue continues to bug me, I’ll just load Win Home and be done with it. Thanks again for your quick response. GeorgeSpiegel1 asked:. I answer that question by running a cheap desktop PC in Win Home. One is named ULead Photo Impact 4, dating back to pre Over the years, I’ve found at the Flea Market Photo Impact up dates 5 and, 6, all on disc, and the phone book size user’s manual.

It’s my favorite photo editor. Over the years of Microsoft’s software changes, Photo Impact is somewhat impaired, but I still get the same results in a finished edited image.

With software all going the subscription route, it’s nice to have software on a disc, it’s yours, and you own it, and it just might work for decades. So to answer your question, You’d need to post the question with a full description of the software you’re concerned about, and hope someone has been down that road.

Otherwise, you’ll learn from experience. Especially in the case of IE11, there are many reasons why a webpage works better on one computer, on one IE11 installation than another. Some of these are cached files, length of time since all iexplore processes were ended, add-ons, and security programs.

This is not a Home vs Pro issue. They are identical, except that Professional has a few features that Home doesn’t have. If you are seeing differences between them on your computers, look elsewhere for what is causing the differences.

Regarding browsers, as you know, Windows 10 comes with two: Edge and Internet Explorer. Like you, I think is a very poor browser and I never use it.

But not wanting to use Edge doesn’t mean you have to use Internet Explorer. I also prefer Internet Explorer, but in my view it’s only slightly better than Edge. There are many other choices of browsers almost all free , and which one you use is entirely up to you. Google Chrome is the most popular, but I don’t like that one either. My personal favorite is FireFox, but you should ignore my personal favorite and everyone else’s. Try several they’re free and make your own decision as to which you think is best.

I hate the Edge browser. Most videos, Yahoo calander, and Yahoo Finance won’t , open, or read properly when I’m using the Explorer browser , but will if I switch to the Edge browser. My other 2 computers running the Win Home edition will open everyting in the Explorer browser. I hate the Edge browser, tried for months to force it upon myslef, all to no avail. I’ve already set and reset Win’s pop us setting, also to no avail.

What am I missing? I’m now at believing that Win Home is a better choice than Win Pro. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. Igor Leyko Independent Advisor. So I have deep enough Windows knowledge and you may trust me. Windows 10 Home is less functional than Pro but speed, reliability and other characteristics ate the same. Windows kernel is significantly the same in different editions and even in Windows 10 and Windows Server so there is no basis for noticeable difference in speed and reliability.
